Saturday’s Slate

We’ve finally learned our Thursday night lesson.  The public will win on Thursday more often than not.  Saturdays, though, are another matter.

Sunday Funday!

Winner winner chicken dinner!  Yesterday was a good day.  $$$

We love when our system starts having days like that.  They become more frequent as the season progresses.  Today’s games:

9:30am  Redskins  +3  Casual  (Josh Norman’s return is big here.)

1pm  Bills  +7  Casual  (going against Brady makes one’s stomach turn.)

1pm  Bucs  +1′  Solid  (We’ve been high on the Bucs all year and paid the price.  Doubling down.)

4:25pm  Packers  +3  Casual  (The Packers patch work defense will need to hold up on the back end to have a chance here.)

4:25  Packers/Falcons Under 53  Casual  (see above.)

8:30pm  Eagles  +5  Solid  (Eagles defense is pretty good.  Should be a close game.)

Saturday’s Slate

The public has been winning these Thursday night contests.  Perhaps to draw them in for the weekends.  Something to keep in mind moving forward.

There a lot of casual games today, but we couldn’t find one we love.  At least, not yet.

Noon  Penn State  -13′  Casual  (heading into this we expected to go the other way since PSU was coming off the big win.  But the public is surprisingly going the other way. So…)

Noon  East Carolina  -7  Casual

Noon  Central Florida  +10  Casual

3:30pm  Texas  +4  Nominal  (our system actually likes this game a lot, but our own brains tell us Baylor, so we trimmed this back to a nominal play.)

3:30pm  Florida Atlantic  +21′  Casual  (we’ve had no luck with Florida Atlantic all year, and don’t like this play.  But, we stick with our system for now.)

3:30pm  Army  +7  Casual  (we didn’t realize Army was having a respectable season until this game showed up in our system.)

7pm  Marshall  +15′  Casual  (we’ve not liked Marshall much.)

7:15pm  South Carolina  +14  Casual

7:15pm  Ole Miss  +5  Nominal  (Auburn has played well and the public has noticed.  This one doesn’t sit easy with us.)

10:45pm  Oregon State  +13  Casual

11pm  Arizona  +5  Casual   (Arizona is bad.  Standford has been overrated.)

Saturday’s Slate

We do not have a ton of games on Saturday, but we’ve enough to keep you interested.  We’re really looking forward to a great Sunday.

For Saturday:

Noon   NC State   +18   Nominal

3:30pm   Akron   +12   Solid

3:30pm   Miami   -7   Casual

7pm   UConn   +20   Casual

7pm   Rice   +3′   Nominal

Saturday’s Slate

After we posted our picks for last night, we thought about switching the amounts.  We’ve been high on Washington and knew Stanford was overrated.  We felt BYU would impose it’s will in the 2nd half against Toledo as the altitude began to wear on them.  We were correct, just came up 2 yards short and underestimated Toledo’s offensive consistency.

Today:

Noon Vanderbilt +11′ Solid

Noon  Georgia Tech  +8  Casual

3:30pm  Illinois  +21  Casual

7pm  North Texas  +17  Casual

7pm  UTEP  +21′  Casual

7pm  Central Michigan  +3  Casual

7pm  Ole Miss -16  Nominal

3:30pm  Purdue  +10′  Solid

Standings Update

  • Load up 1-0
  • High stakes 1-0
  • Solid bets 5-5
  • Casual bets 22-19
  • Nominal bets 6-9
  • Overall bets 14-12
    +$8.3

The above includes paying juice.

Nominal games are normally just bet for entertainment only meaning one of the few games on TV that we don’t have a good read on.  We typically side with our system even if our personal opinions go against it.

We’re not shocked our nominal games are losing, but our solid plays are highly disappointing.  Still, we’re up.

Rutgers +14 casual

Colorado State +17 casual

UTEP  +11′ casual

Good luck!

Monday Manifesto

Since last year’s playoffs we’ve been on an NFL tear.  Although we specialize in NFL games, we recognize our current trend is unsustainable.  In our last 16 NFL games, we’re 15-1-1.  Here we are for this season both college and pros.

  • Load up 1-0
  • High stakes 1-0
  • Solid bets 3-2
  • Casual bets 9-9
  • Nominal bets 0-1
  • Overall bets 14-12
    +$32.5

Monday Night Football

Tonight has a double-header.  Just as Thursday night, we’ve a split.  Our football brains say Steelers while our system says Redskins.  We learned our lesson on Thursday that our system is smarter than us.  On the later game we find value in the 49ers at home.  So this is where we are:

7:10pm  Redskins  +2   Nominal

10:20pm  49ers  +2′   Casual

Sunday Funday!

The Big XII had some bad luck yesterday.  Oklahoma State had a BS untamed down ran against them that shouldn’t have occurred and gave up a game-winning/losing hail Mary and lateral to Central Michigan.  Then TCU stormed back against Arkansas and scored a nail in the coffin TD in the final minute to have it called back by a controversial call saying the WR who had been forced out of bounds by the defender by an inch had gone out on his own making him ineligible to touch the pass first.  They then had a game winning chip shot FG kicked too low and blocked.  TCU went on to lose in OT.  Once teams think the game is over and shut it down, it’s difficult to get that edge back.

We did well only because we loaded up on Vanderbilt.  That -3 line was so good I thought something might be up, but the public actually was going way in on MTSU.  Crazy!  Here’s where we’re at on the year.

Summary – for description see the About link at the top of the screen.

  • Load up            1-0
  • High stakes    0-0
  • Solid bets        2-2
  • Casual bets     7-9
  • Nominal bets 0-1
  • Overall bets    10-12
  • +$24.1

Best thing about our system is it allows you to have fun even when you lose a majority of games (which won’t be a year long thing) as long as you win the big ones (which will be a year long thing).
